Who Is New Growth

"New Growth is a Sustainable Climate
Non-profit."

“New Growth, an Irish charity founded in 2018, is committed to uplifting rural communities in Nepal and Asia, especially those in marginalized areas like the mid hills of Nepal. Our focus revolves around sustainable infrastructure through tree planting and reforestation, addressing economic disparities in the region. Our team, consisting of experts in Agriculture, Horticulture, and Business, adopts a holistic approach to community engagement and sustainability.

Beyond traditional charity, we embody a collective commitment to meaningful change. Positive feedback indicates that our efforts are making a significant impact, helping people in these communities rebuild their lives.”

Our Goals

We are expanding our presence across Asia with a mission to integrate vulnerable populations into a sustainable  development process. Acknowledging the urgent impact of climate change, particularly on the most disadvantaged, we emphasise the importance of collective action to create long term change for poor farmers.

Our strategic approach centres on community forest restoration, fruit & nut tree nurseries, and agricultural diversification to foster resilient core communities, driving progress and sustainability.

Recognizing the challenges faced by remote communities dependent on subsistence farming, we are dedicated to transitioning them toward sustainable organic farming practices. By doing so, we aim to create self-support opportunities and break the cycle of poverty, contributing to long-term positive change.

Planting Hope Trees for Nature and People

Our Approach

Our comprehensive approach centres on promoting sustainable farming practices and community reforestation within a community or cooperative framework. We establish nurseries as educational hubs, where farmers learn to cultivate fruit and nut trees alongside growing native tree species for community reforestation. These resources are donated over time and passed on to the next community, fostering a cycle of learning and support that strengthens community resilience through our “Pass the Gift of a Tree” initiative. Partnering with organisations such as CSRC amplifies our efforts, aiding in necessary infrastructure development and leveraging expertise to drive meaningful change among marginalised farmers. We prioritise enhancing biodiversity and empowering local farmers through our nurseries, providing guidance in fruit and nut tree cultivation, native tree growing, and organic product development to foster skill development.

Moreover, we offer micro-enterprise training in various ventures including herbal tea production, incense making, shiitake mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, and orchard and forest product cultivation. This not only promotes economic well-being but also motivates community members. Our commitment extends to ensure your donation will have the  long-term sustainability impact  through our “Pass the Gift of a Tree” initiative, aiming for enduring and resilient communities.

Our Regenerative Farming and Forest Garden Model Will Make a Difference for Climate and People

Our Vision

Our vision is to plant 10 million native trees and fruit &nut trees in marginalized areas across Asia, promoting sustainability amid climate change challenges. We strongly believe in the interconnectedness of people and the environment, working to improve lives one tree at a time. By bridging societal divides and embracing a holistic approach, we aspire to create a positive impact. Your support is essential in turning this vision into a reality for a more sustainable future.
