The BMW Berlin Marathon is one of the world’s greatest marathons, with over 40,000 entries expected from 100 countries in 2019. The course is flat, traffic-free and fast – in fact, the fastest course in the world. In 2018 Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya broke the world record with an incredible new time of 2:01:39. The world record has been broken five times in Berlin in the past ten years. Berlin is one of the six World Marathon Majors.
The 46th edition of the race starts at 9.15am on the six-lane Strasse des 17 Juni. The marathon is run in an average annual temperature of 13oC / 55 oF. The course takes in some of East and West Berlin’s great sights, before finishing close to the start area at the magnificent Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Showers, massage and refreshments are provided at the finish area. Note: The finish line closes after 6hrs 15mins.
The International Breakfast Run (6K) on Saturday morning at 9.30am is also one of the best anywhere. The run finishes in the historic 96,000-seater Olympic Stadium, scene of the 1936 Olympics and where the World Cup Final took place in 2006. The City: Berlin has changed greatly since the Wall came down in 1989. Historic sites like the Reichstag have been magnificently restored. Discover the sophistication of the West and savor the contrast with pre-unification East Berlin sites such as Unter den Linden, Alexanderplatz and Museum Island. Hotel: 3 nights’ accommodation plus breakfast in the excellent 4* H10 Ku’Damm Hotel, located in the heart of Berlin, convenient for the race start/finish and within easy reach of all of Berlin’s attractions. Extra nights are available on request. From the hotel, a 10-minute walk takes you to the train and it is just 3 stops to the start and finish of the Berlin Marathon. The hotel is only 200m from Berlin’s main Kurfürstendamm shopping street. A wide range of restaurants and bars are within a 5-minute walk. Ku’Damm Underground Station is a 1-minute walk away. H10 Berlin Ku’damm rooms have wooden floors and large windows. Modern comforts include a laptop safe, a flat-screen TV and automatic temperature control. USB and audio-visual ports are provided. The restaurant buffet offers a selection of Mediterranean and international dishes. Other facilities include, terrace, massage (additional charge), library, bicycle rental (additional charge), bar, restaurant, concierge service, luggage storage, 24-hour front desk, air conditioning, non-smoking throughout the hotel, safety deposit box, room service.

DEPOSITS
A deposit of €310 per runner and €150 per non-runner is due on booking and the balance is due by Monday 1 July 2019. Please book non-running companions at the same time as the runner.
Race Day baggage options:
Along with your 2019 BMW Berlin Marathon Race entry, you have a choice of race day baggage options. Each runner is required to make a choice from one of the 2 options below (to be made when booking).
Race Day Baggage – This will allow you to take a small bag to the start area.
Race Day Poncho – Any clothes or personal items that you take to the start area will have to be disposable and will not be transported to the finish line. You will be provided with a poncho by the race organisers when you finish and will have a quicker exit from the finish area.
