Our project focuses on creating sustainable forest products to benefit families and enter new markets, with a particular emphasis on cultivating plants like rhododendron arboretum, the national flower of Nepal. This plant is renowned in traditional medicine for addressing issues such as stomach ailments, fevers, constipation, and liver inflammation.
The traditional practices associated with these medicinal uses need revitalization, and the wealth of local knowledge in healing must be preserved and passed on. It is crucial to guide young people on how to share the wisdom of elders within their communities and safeguard this valuable healing knowledge before it fades away.
Our goal is to expand this wisdom and help communities recognize the inherent value of utilizing their local ecology for their well-being. In remote areas, there is a tendency to rely on the plants and herbal remedies available, but without intervention, this traditional knowledge is at risk of being lost.
Taking action now is essential to ensure the continuity of these practices and the preservation of valuable traditional wisdom.
