Our Partner CSRC (community self-reliance centre)

«We’re deeply engaged in a collaborative effort with the Community Self-Reliance Centre
(CSRC) and two key communities, namely the Sherpa community and Newar Tea Farm. CSRC
boasts a remarkable 30-year legacy of advocating for land rights and combating gender
inequality in Nepal. Together, our focus lies in bolstering local farmers’ efforts to diversify and
expand their agricultural practices, particularly in cultivating fruit and nut trees. Through this joint
initiative, each participating community not only embarks on cultivating these trees but also
actively participates in a tree-sharing program, facilitating the transfer of this invaluable resource
to the next community in line.

Moreover, CSRC is spearheading the development of strategies aimed at scaling up their
sustainable programs, which directly empower farmers to confront the challenges posed by
climate change while also providing crucial income support. In a concerted effort, we’re
collaboratively shaping and integrating our community development model to foster a seamless
approach to sustainable development.

Additionally, we’re currently piloting an innovative program dubbed ‘Nurture Nature Future
Forests,’ which underscores our commitment to harmonizing the needs of both nature and
people. This initiative aims to nurture a symbiotic relationship between communities and their
natural environment, ensuring a prosperous and resilient future for all.
